Cutting

From Miya 01-Navy, cut:
1 square, 16 1/2" x 16 1/2"


From 3782 Navy, cut:
5 strips, 1 1/2" x 42"
2 rectangles, 1" x 16 1/2"
2 rectangles, 1" x 17 1/2"
4 rectangles, 2" x 24 1/2"


From Miya 03-Aqua, cut:
2 squares, 12 7/8" x 12 7/8", cut once diagonally to yield 4 triangles


From Miya 04-Wine, cut:
4 rectangles, 2" x 24 1/2"
8 squares, 5 1/2" x 5 1/2", cut twice diagonally to yield 32 triangles
2 squares, 5 1/8" x 5 1/8", cut once diagonally to yield 4 triangles


From Miya 05-Navy, cut:
4 square, 6 1/2" x 6 1/2"
20 squares, 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
From the lengthwise grain of


Miya 02-Periwinkle, cut:
2 strips, 5 1/2" x 45"
2 strips, 5 1/2" x 55"
12 square, 6 1/2" x 6 1/2"

Binding
From Miya 04-Navy, cut:
6 strips, 2" x 42"

 

Directions

1. Sew a navy 1" border strip to each side of the 16 1/2" square, then sew a 1" strip to the top and bottom edges.


2. Sew a 12 7/8" triangle to opposite sides of the center unit from step 1. Sew a triangle to the two remaining sides.


3. Sew a wine 2" rectangle and a navy 2" rectangle together. Make 4.


4. Sew a unit from step 3 to opposites of the unit from step 2. Sew a 3 1/2" navy square to each end of the two remaining units from step 3. Sew the strips to the unit from step 2.


5. Sew two red 5 1/2" triangles and one 3 1/2" navy square together to make a side unit. Make 16 units.


6. Arrange and sew one 6 1/2" navy square, three 6 1/2" floral squares, one 5 1/8" triangle, and four side units from step 5 together, as shown, to make a corner unit. Make 4 units. Refer to the photo as needed.


7. Sew the center unit from step 4 and the four corner units from step 6 together.


8. Sew the 1 1/2" navy strips together end to end to make a continuous strip. From this long strip, cut two 43" strips and sew to each of the side edges. From the long strip, cut two 45" strips; and sew to the top and bottom edges.


9. Sew a 45" outer border strip to each of the side edges. Sew a 55" outer border strip to the top and bottom edges.


10. Layer the quilt top with batting and backing. Quilt as desired. Bind the edges.
